Live engineering tutoring services are virtually non-existent

The obstacle to engineering tutoring has always been financial cost and finding tutoring expertise

There are two conflicting factors:

1. engineering students have extremely limited financial resources; the typical student can only afford to spend around $ 20 per week on tutoring

2. It is impossible to find advanced engineering tutoring expertise in one place for hundreds of engineering courses at affordable rates, with 24/7/365 availability.

If you can find an expert who is willing to make available his time, he may charge as much as $ 100 per hour, and only has expertise in a few courses in his field.

If a commercial tutoring service tries to recruit experts, they will have to charge as much as $ 200 per hour, half of the fee is paid to the expert, half is for the provider.

If a typical student can only afford $ 20 per week, then by working with an expert he can get 12 minutes of tutoring, with a commercial service, he can get 6 minutes.

test preps are offered before the exam date and meet for one 2 hour session.

Users can now prepare for exams from the convenience of home or office in front of the computer in a live, interactive, online format in real-time.

The test-prep is perfect for students with busy work and school schedules.

By attending the test-prep, users don’t have to deprive themselves of sleep, and by preparing with the test-prep they can be rested to achieve maximum performance on

The test-preps are custom designed for the particular university, course, and difficulty-level and style of the professor giving the exam.

The exam material and equations are summarized and presented on a flowchart ( yellow-sheet ).

Problem-solving procedures are outlined in the session, followed by hands-on problem-solving of old exams and exam-level problems.

Studying for your engineering courses

Taking engineering courses can be a very traumatic, personality-changing experience.

It takes so much time to decipher the textbook, the lectures are usually confusing and you get stuck when trying to solve the problems.

How To Use

Pre Study	Students can pre-study a course without the pressure of a grade or exam deadlines. The user can develop a thorough understanding of the subject and complete the assigned homework problems before taking the course for credit.

Time Management	Students can take care of all their work in a university-course, by studying in the problem-solving study sessions. All the theory from the textbooks is summarized in pink-sheets. Users study the material by working problems in a structured, hands-on problem-solving format. Homework problems are included.

Post Study	Students can take the problem-solving class to thoroughly study and learn the material after having taken the course for credit. If the student was not able to develop enough proficiency in the course when taking it for credit, if he has deficiencies or if he needs a stronger background in the material for future course-work.

Incomplete Pre-requisites	Not all essential courses are offered in the degree program. Students can take the problem-solving class if the course is not offered in the degree program but is necessary in order to develop a stronger background.

University Credit	If a student’s work-schedule conflicts with the university-class, he can study the material in the problem-solving class and get credit by taking the university exams at the local university.

The live problem-solving class follows the syllabus of the course at your engineering university.

Set the weekly schedule

The students in the class will decide on the two weekly meetings.

Problems to be worked

The class parallels the university engineering course, practice problems are hand-solved to learn the material.

Homework problems will be integrated in the sessions when they match the flow of topics covered, we should be able to work most assigned homework problems.

Students may request homework problems to be solved in the sessions; please give your homework list to the instructor, and they will be sequenced in the sessions.

Homework problems will only be worked after we have covered and taught the fundamental principles.

Special assignments, take-home tests, projects, labs

These will not be worked in the problem-solving class, private instruction is available for these special assignments.

Weekly billing

The live class runs on a subscription basis, at a weekly rate of $ 20, for up to 4 hours per week.

The student will be billed regardless of attendance.

No shows

Students who miss more than 5 scheduled meetings will be dropped from the class.

Session files

Students in the class pay to receive live instruction and may handcopy all information from their computer screen.

Students should hand-copy from the screen when we present the problem-solving procedures, also known as the pink sheets.

Students will hand-solve assigned problems on paper, then hand-copy from the screen when we discuss the solutions.

The class fee does not include any files.

The whiteboard and audio files are edited and post-produced within 24 hours of the live session; this is a very labor-intensive process, then they are archived.

Users who register late can purchase the files of previous sessions at $ 10 per session; each session will have one digital whiteboard file and one audio file.

Registered users who attended the session, can also purchase the session-files at half price: $ 5 per session

Registered users who missed a session can purchase the session-files at half price: $ 5 per session

Late registrations

Students who register late for the class can purchase the whiteboard and audio-file of each session at $ 10 per session.

Missed sessions

Students who miss a session can purchase the whiteboard and audio-file of the missed session at half price: $ 5 per session

Withdrawals

Students may withdraw at any time from the class which ends all billing.

There is no re-registration allowed in the class for the current semester.
